Special Requirements

This theme requires the latest version of WeatherPanel, and you need at least two sizes of icons for proper display, for these files you need regular and mini icons (and it will display best if you also have large icons for the built in detail screens but they are not required) The directory structure for icons should be as follows: Icons/YourIcons where YourIcons is the icon set you are using. This folder can have the following sub-folders: Huge, Large, Mini and Moon, the Huge, Large and Mini can have a sub-folder in them called Moon.

The lunar calendar display will work best if you have mini moon icons in your selected theme. It will use the built in mini moons if you do not but this will significantly slow the display. If you wish to use the Real time moon image display make that image the seventh image of your home city. To use this you must have the seventh radar image pointed to the following URL: [1] Note that if you have no seventh image the screen will default to a standard moon image from your icon set, this is so you do not have to have multiple downloads of the moon image for proper display when not viewing from your home city. The image is a one pixel jpg image so it shouldn't take long to download or take up significant space on your device.

Introduction

STEALTH is a fully landscape and portrait compliant WeatherPanel theme with a deceptively small today screen layout from where you can access a forecast popup which has windows for current and forecast conditions, Radar, graphs, lunar calendar and weather alerts. Two other popups are available, a large graphs page and a large radar window. If you have any questions or problems please read the instructions below the image.

Installation Instructions:

Download the proper VGA file to your computer and unzip the folder and place the WeatherBox folder on your PPC in your MaresWare/WeatherPanel/Themes folder. Go into WeatherPanel settings and select the display tab from the bottom. For theme select STEALTH, and select one of the STEALTH layouts for the Layout. I recommend that you place the layout at the top of the today screen as it will look best here. While this theme will work inside PocketBreeze it is not really designed to and if you have it in PB with side tabs the popups may not display well. A general description of available layouts is listed below. Select the icons you wish to use with the layout (Note that the lunar calendar works much faster if you have mini moon icons with the Icons you select. All themes work best with both normal and mini icons.)

General Directions

Basic operation of this file is simple, from the default today screen display you only have two objects visible, a settings button on the left and a text object to the right of it, to change to a layout from where you can access the popups just tap the text object, tapping the text object cycles between three different today layouts with all of the layouts, though the specifics of the screens differ somewhat. On any pages which have small buttons with letters or arrows you can use these to navigate with.

Buttons on Today screen:

• F = Forecast screen popup with child windows.
• G = Large graphs popup.
• R = Large radar popup.
• < = Previous city.
• > = Next city.
• Icon = Any screen which has a weather icon for now or forecast will open WP built in details screens. Note that I have included my landscape detail screens with this layout.

The forecast popup is pretty self explanatory, tap one of the buttons on the left to open specific views, tap any of the lower icons for more info on that days forecast. Any of the icons in the upper part of the window will open up my landscape compliant Weather Detail screens. All popups will automatically adjust in size and placement depending on whether they are being viewed in landscape or portrait mode.

Layouts included

Note that there are two themes in the downloaded folder, STEALTH and STEALTH GRAY, all the screenshots have been of STEALTH. STEALTH GRAY is identical with the exception of having a solid gray background instead of a semi transparent background and is meant for users who have today screen backgrounds that do not play well with the transparency for on reason or another.

• STEALTH.wpl - Best if used on a moderately dark to dark today screen, buttons may disappear on lighter today themes. Today screen pages are "Default">"Short Forecast">"Long forecast"

• STEALTH LIGHT.wpl - Same as above but has a color rectangle which highlights the buttons for better visibility on lighter today themes.

• STEALTH 4CAST.wpl - This one has the highlighting of the above and has a somewhat different page arrangement. Today screen pages are "Default">"Long forecast">"Five day Forecast"

Today Screen Pages

• DEFAULT - The default layout which appears when you first load the theme, if it looks odd just cycle through the available pages back to it to fix the display. The image on the left is a settings button while the text object to the right of it is the button used to switch to the next layout.

• SHORT FORECAST - Displays current temp and weather text along with the settings button and buttons to allow you to open the popups.

• LONG FORECAST - Displays current icon, current temp, weather text and city name along with buttons to navigate between the cities and popup buttons.

• FIVE DAY FORECAST - Displays settings button, city name, navigation buttons and five day forecast. Only available on the STEALTH 4CAST.wpl in place of the SHORT FORECAST.

Known Limitations and bugs:

1.) This theme will not display at it's best in PocketBreeze with side tabs. WeatherPanel reads the screen width based on the Today plugins location so it will see the Today screen as being only 224 pixels wide instead of 240 (this is in WP terms, obviously the numbers are doubled for VGA) which causes the popup to be too narrow and to display off center.

2.) On the built in Weather Details pages if you are looking at the page which shows multiple days while in Landscape mode and tap one of the icons it will take you to the Portrait details page for that day. This appears to be a bug with WeatherPanel. This bug is present in a few of these pages.

3.) If you do not update for over 24 hours then much of the display will be somewhat unpredictable. This is a limitation of using the IF-CURRENT-ACTUAL command.

4.) NOTE TO QVGA USERS: I designed this theme to be very small and as such it may not be very readable on QVGA devices. Since I would have to totally rewrite the files and change the entire nature of the layouts to fix this I won't. So if you find the appearance acceptable use it with my blessings, and if not then don't. I would not recommend even bothering to use the forecast version as it will be almost useless on your devices.
